Historical Village is set for Antiques & Handcraft Fair

THE HERVEY Bay Historical Village & Museum will once again hold their annual Antiques and Handcraft Fair on the 6th May at the Museum in Scarness.

This is an opportunity for the public to be part of the day and book a stall and turn your unwanted “treasures” into helpful cash.

The day is modelled on the BBC “Antiques Road Show” TV program, where you bring in your valuables to be valued by our Valuers, Craig and Claire Winter, and the Hervey Bay Gem Club.

John Anderson from the organizing committee says, “The day is not a Flea Market but is limited to stall holders selling antiques, old wares and collectables as well as handmade arts and crafts (not mass produced items!)” “You can book your old stall for a modest fee and we have a limited number of tables and gazebos as well for hire on the day if needed.”

The day will also include two Fashion Parades of vintage clothing, with local community radio station 107.5 FM broadcasting the day live.

There will be free Lucky Door tickets to all attending, with a great prize to be drawn on the day and a large raffle with all proceeds to improve facilities at the Museum.

There will be a special Souvenir and Museum Books Stall while all Museum buildings will be open on the day, plus other surprise events.

There will be a five-dollar special admission price for adults, with children admitted for free.

For site bookings or any other enquiries, call the museum office on Tuesday or Thursday mornings on 4128 4804 or speak with John Anderson on 0412 166 447.
