A QUIET act of community spirit caught the attention of passersby this week as a local man was seen mowing the lawns along Pt Vernon Esplanade, accompanied by his laid-back labrador.

With his John Deere ride-on mower and loyal canine companion beside him, the man took it upon himself to tidy up the popular walking path, which had become overgrown in recent weeks. 

His efforts helped restore a clear and comfortable space for locals and their dogs to enjoy the scenic coastline.

The Pt Vernon Esplanade is a well-loved stretch of Hervey Bay’s foreshore, frequently used by walkers, joggers, and pet owners. 

With autumn bringing cooler weather and more foot traffic, the freshly cut verge is a welcome sight.
