THE WIDE Bay Rodders will again bring Hervey Bay alive over the May long weekend with their annual May in the Wide Bay event.
The hugely popular Esplanade Cruise will highlight hundreds of beautiful Hot Rods, Classics, Australian and American Muscle Cars along with Vintage Motorcycles, streaming along the foreshore.
The Sports and Recreation Precinct will again be the home for the Show and Shine Day, on Sunday 5th May with the gates opening at 9am.
“In previous years our May in the Wide Bay event has raised over $30,000 for the local community and attracted people from all over the country to Hervey Bay,” President Allen White.
“With the event being held at the Sports and Recreation Precinct, we have seen this event explode and affirm it’s place as the biggest event of its kind in the country.”
“We look forward to working through the outcomes of this year’s event.”
The Fraser Coast Regional Council has pledged support for the event for the next two years, ensuring the vital local tourism driver remains vibrant and growing.
“This event injects between $2.5 and $3 million dollars into our local community. We expect well over 3,000 visitors to this event again this year.”
