FRASER Coast Regional Council is pushing ahead with a significant redevelopment of the Pialba Caravan Park, in a move designed to ensure the popular holiday destination remains safe, accessible, and attractive well into the future.
Council has awarded a $10.5 million contract to Rejuvenate Group Pty Ltd, a company with a proven track record in delivering similar tourism infrastructure projects across the Fraser Coast.
The extensive upgrade will be delivered in stages, allowing sections of the park to remain operational throughout the construction period and minimising disruption for guests.
The planned improvements are comprehensive and aimed at modernising the facilities to align with the expectations of today’s travellers.
Key features of the upgrade include the complete replacement of underground services, upgrades to internal road networks, extensive landscaping, and the construction of a brand-new camp kitchen and barbecue area.
In addition, new toilet and shower amenities will be installed, along with the development of a new recreation zone to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Cr Lachlan Cosgrove emphasised the importance of the project in addressing the limitations of ageing infrastructure and adapting to the needs of the modern tourism market.
“The current infrastructure is ageing and wasn’t designed for today’s larger caravans and RVs,” he said.
“The upgrade is about making the park more functional, comfortable and enjoyable for visitors while maintaining its relaxed coastal feel.”
The Rejuvenate Group was selected as the preferred contractor after a competitive tender process.
The company is no stranger to projects of this nature, having successfully delivered similar upgrades at the Scarness and Burrum Heads caravan parks—both popular locations within the region.
To facilitate the commencement of Stage 1, bookings for the affected area of the park have been paused from 31 July 2025.
This will ensure contractors have the access they need to begin works safely and efficiently.
Construction is anticipated to take approximately 18 months, with the timeline subject to weather conditions.
