Maryborough Choral Society marks 65 years
1 min read

FOR OVER 65 years, the Maryborough Choral Society has been a cornerstone of local musical culture, sharing the joy of song with the community.

While its membership has fluctuated over the decades, the Society’s dedication to musical excellence remains unchanged.

In its early days, the Society performed at Maryborough’s City Hall to large, enthusiastic audiences.

Today, the group continues to delight audiences at venues such as the Brolga Theatre and St Paul’s Anglican Church, offering performances that connect generations through music.

A not-for-profit organisation, the Society is self-funded through member contributions, concerts, and donations.

Weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM at the Canegrowers Hall in Maryborough.

Under the direction of Conductor Ryan Jones and his music committee, members rehearse a diverse repertoire that currently includes favourites like Dream a Little Dream, Why We Sing, and Hallelujah.

More than just a musical group, the Choral Society is a community dedicated to the belief that music brings people together.

Whether performing on stage or sharing in the experience from the audience, members and listeners alike benefit from the emotional and social connection that music inspires.

The Society welcomes new members with a passion for singing and encourages anyone interested to join.
