Founded by local creative Nicky Fernandes, Moments Dress Collective was born from a passion for sustainability and a desire to make luxury fashion accessible to everyone — from school formal attendees to wedding guests and gala-goers.
“Every woman deserves to feel incredible for her special moment — whether it’s a school formal, a wedding, or a milestone celebration,” said Nicky.
“But that doesn’t have to mean spending hundreds on a dress you’ll only wear once. Dress hire lets you enjoy high-quality, designer fashion for a fraction of the price, while making a more sustainable choice.”
The studio operates primarily online, with Australia-wide express postage, free local pick-up, and try-ons available by appointment at its private Hervey Bay studio.
Each postage delivery includes a return prepaid satchel, making the process simple and stress-free.
With Hervey Bay’s schools hosting their Year 12 formals at different times throughout the year, Moments Dress Collective provides a convenient and affordable option for students looking to stand out without travelling to larger cities or taking risks with fast-fashion websites.
“I’ve spoken with so many local students who order a dress online and it arrives nothing like the photo — or not at all,” Nicky said.
“Now they can try on in person or hire online locally, knowing they’ll get a beautiful affordable gown, delivered on time.”
The collection features an elegant, ever-changing range of designer and boutique-label gowns, carefully curated for formals, weddings, galas, and special occasions.
Designers include Lia Stublla, House of CB, Tania Olsen, Studio Lexi, Nookie, and Studio Minc, among others.
With around 80 dresses ranging from size 4 to size 16, the collection caters to a wide variety of styles.

In an exciting next step, Moments Dress Collective will soon offer consignment opportunities for locals to earn money from formal or evening gowns sitting unworn in their wardrobes — giving designer pieces a second life while supporting a more sustainable, circular fashion community on the Fraser Coast.
“It’s heartbreaking to see beautiful, expensive dresses worn once and forgotten,” Nicky said.
“Our consignment model gives those gowns a second life — helping their owners make a little money back while supporting other women in our region to look and feel amazing.
“It’s about sustainability, community, and connection.”
