A BELOVED monthly event providing social connection, friendship and delicious treats will soon have even more on the menu.

Scone Time, delivered in partnership with the Women’s Independent Support Enterprise (WISE) has quickly become a must-attend event at the Urangan Community Wellness Centre, with guests looking to make connections in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Now, the event is set to introduce special guest speakers each month, talking on relevant health and well-being topics.

Participants are encouraged to suggest topics they would enjoy - it’s a sweet two-way conversation!

Maureen Hall, HBNC’s Aged and Inclusion Services Manager, said Scone Time was open to anyone looking to build a social network and a sense of community.

“Feeling a part of the community has major benefits for health, well-being and happiness. We are confident this is what Scone Time guests find each month,” Maureen said.

“The addition of guest speakers, as well as freshly-baked scones with jam and cream, makes the events extra sweet.”

This is just another step in our mission to reduce social isolation and create a more connected community.

Scone time happens on the first Thursday of every month from 10 to 11:30am.

Where: The Urangan Community Wellness Centre, Elizabeth St, Urangan

Cost: $5 per person. Book online or at centre reception: https://www.hbnc.com.au/Event/sconethursday
