Wildlife Queensland hosts local nature talks again

THE FRASER Coast Branch of Wildlife Queensland is set to reignite its popular Wildlife Library talks this May, focusing on the fascinating and diverse fauna of our region.

The upcoming presentations, featuring local nature enthusiasts Tina Raveneau and Cassy Ironside from “Riverbend Nature Connections,” will delve into the unique biodiversity of the Fraser Coast, highlighting both the beauty and vulnerability of local wildlife.

In Tina’s own words, “We are two local nature enthusiasts who value the special flora and fauna found right here on the Fraser Coast."

Why is our region so biodiverse?

What are some of our most endangered wildlife species?

What can we do to help ensure their survival?

Tina and Cassy are passionate about educating the public on the critical importance of wildlife conservation and fostering a deeper connection with the natural world.

The talks will explore the reasons behind the region’s rich biodiversity, spotlighting some of the endangered species that call the Fraser Coast home, and offering practical advice on how individuals can get involved in protecting these species for future generations.

The two talks will be held at the Hervey Bay Library on Friday, May 16, and the Maryborough Library on Friday, May 30.

Both events will run from 1pm to approximately 2pm.

Community members are invited to attend these free talks and engage with the presenters in an insightful discussion about local wildlife and conservation efforts.

Tickets can be booked online via Eventbrite or by calling the Hervey Bay Library at 41974220.

This is a unique opportunity for locals to learn more about the region’s wildlife and gain valuable knowledge that can help contribute to preserving the natural environment.

Don’t miss out on this exciting event that promises to be both educational and inspiring.
