THE FRASER Coast Branch of Wildlife Queensland is inviting nature enthusiasts to a special Wildlife Library talk this September, featuring Beth Ellefson, Senior Natural Environment Officer with the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

Beth, who oversees the bush care aspect of the council’s Community Environment Program, will share her insights on the vital work taking place in local reserves.

As coordinator of the program, Beth is responsible for the regeneration of native parkland and public gardens that define much of the Fraser Coast’s natural beauty.

Her presentation promises an in depth look at the results of different bush regeneration techniques and highlights the invaluable contribution of volunteers who help restore and maintain the region’s natural environment.

Beth brings a wealth of experience to the role, with a strong background in bush regeneration, horticulture, and environmental education.

Her mission is to empower community members with knowledge and hands on opportunities to make a positive impact on local ecosystems.

Attendees can expect to leave inspired and equipped to support conservation efforts in their own neighbourhoods.

Before stepping into her current position, Beth spent three years teaching secondary science both overseas and in Queensland.

She then shifted her focus to horticulture and bush regeneration, working for seven years with local government and contractors.

Her diverse experience has given her a unique perspective on both education and practical environmental management, making her an engaging and informative speaker.

The Wildlife Library talks are open to all and will be held in two locations: Hervey Bay on September 19 and Maryborough on September 26, from 1 pm to 2 pm.

These events provide a rare opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of Fraser Coast’s bush care initiatives and witness the remarkable results volunteers help achieve.

Bookings are essential to secure a spot.

Interested attendees can reserve their place by calling the Library on 4194 4220 or booking online via Eventbrite.

Don’t miss the chance to meet Beth Ellefson and discover how you can contribute to conserving Fraser Coast’s unique natural environment while learning about innovative bush regeneration techniques firsthand.
