THE FRASER Coast’s premier celebration of business excellence is back, with submissions now open for the 12th Fraser Coast Business and Tourism Awards.
Since nominations opened on 27 June, nine entries have already been received, with businesses across the region eager to showcase their achievements from the past year.
The awards cover 23 categories, offering opportunities for all types of businesses—from startups and young achievers to innovators and customer service specialists—to be recognised as leaders in the Fraser Coast community.
The annual event is more than just a competition; it’s a chance for local enterprises to gain valuable exposure, network with industry peers, and demonstrate their impact on the region’s growing economy.
Entries are judged by independent panels, with over 130 submissions reviewed each year before winners are announced at a gala dinner and presentation ceremony at Hervey Bay’s Brolga Theatre on Friday, 21 November.
Last year’s winners set a high standard, with Maryborough’s Allweld Manufacturing taking out the prestigious Business of the Year award, alongside wins in Medium and Large Business, and Trade and Manufacturing categories.
Joshua Linwood, the company’s principal, also won the Con Souvlis Young Achiever of the Year Award.
Hervey Bay’s World Treasure Designs shone in Retail and Small Business categories and was honoured with the Chamber Presidents’ Award for outstanding growth.
Eight businesses—including Riverside Christian College, Sanctuary Lakes Fauna Retreat, and Whalesong Cruises—will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2025 after securing category wins for three consecutive years, a testament to their consistent excellence and commitment to the Fraser Coast.
Fraser Coast Tourism & Events General Manager Martin Simons said, “These awards celebrate the innovation and resilience of our local businesses, which are essential to the region’s prosperity.
They provide a fantastic opportunity for businesses to be recognised, gain new connections, and inspire others in the community.”
Submissions close on Monday, 25 August.
