LIFE ED is set to receive more than $4,000 to support their important work, thanks to the generosity of the Hervey Bay community in this year’s Officeworks Make a Difference Appeal.
Throughout June, the Officeworks Make a Difference Appeal encouraged customers to donate at the checkout in-store or online with funds going directly to local community organisations chosen by store teams based on what felt most relevant to their local communities.
Officeworks Hervey Bay chose to raise funds for Life Ed to reach more children in rural, remote and disadvantaged communities.
Officeworks Hervey Bay’s fundraising has contributed to the total $58,000 raised for Life Ed by Officeworks stores during the appeal.
Life Ed CEO, Russell D’Costa said, “At Life Ed, we believe that every child deserves to thrive – no matter who they are, where they live or how much money they have. That’s why we partner with like minded groups and businesses, like Officeworks. Together, we can work towards a future where all children can grow in confidence through education.”
Officeworks Hervey Bay Store Business Manager Mihai Staimberg said, “We are so proud to have raised more than $4,000 for Life Ed and thrilled to have seen our passion for the cause mirrored in our local community. Officeworks Hervey Bay is honoured to support Life Ed, helping to provide valuable resources and support to carry out their vital work. I would like to thank each and every customer who donated to this year’s Make a Difference Appeal helping to make a positive difference in the lives of Australian children.”
In total, thanks to the support and generosity of Officeworks customers and team members nationally, the Make a Difference Appeal raised more than $830,000 to directly help 16 local community organisations whose work supports children to learn, create and connect for a more sustainable future.
Celebrating its seventh year, the Make a Difference Appeal forms part of Officeworks' People and Planet Positive Plan commitment of raising $5 million for local causes between 2020 and 2025.
Almost $6 million has been raised through the annual Make a Difference Appeal since it launched in 2018.
