Hilarious farce ‘Tom, Dick, and Harry’ set to delight
GET READY to laugh until your sides hurt! Fraser Coast audiences are in for a side-splitting theatrical experience this November as Z-PAC Theatre presents Tom, Dick, and Harry, a frantic farce by the celebrated duo Ray and Michael Cooney.
Running from 28 November to 7 December, the production promises an evening of non-stop laughter, quick-fire dialogue, and escalating chaos in the intimate surrounds of Hervey Bay’s beloved community theatre.
Directed by seasoned Z-PAC director Roger Jennings, the play follows the unfortunate Tom Kerwood, who is trying to adopt a baby with his wife.
What should be a calm, respectable day turns into absolute bedlam when his two well-meaning but disastrous brothers arrive to “help.”
Dick shows up with a van full of contraband, Harry turns up with a dead body, and Tom is left frantically juggling lies, cover-ups, and absurd coincidences as he tries to convince a stern adoption agent and an ever-suspicious police constable that everything is perfectly normal.
A major highlight of this production is the meticulously designed set, created by a team led by Roger.
With its multiple doors, hidden compartments, and clever sightlines, the set becomes a key player in the action—perfectly suited for the play’s trademark slapstick, sudden entrances, and lightning-fast timing.
Every door slam and misplaced body adds another layer of hilarity as the plot spirals further out of control.
Roger says audiences can expect pure escapism. “We all need a good laugh, and this play delivers exactly that,” he says.
“It’s classic British farce—fast-paced, witty, and brilliantly absurd.”
The script is a masterclass in comic timing, and our cast has embraced the madness with enthusiasm.
“We can’t wait to share that energy and laughter with the Fraser Coast.”
Tom, Dick, and Harry runs at Z-PAC Theatre from 28 November to 7 December, with performances on Friday and Saturday evenings and Saturday and Sunday matinees.
