Get ready to chop it like it’s hot. The Salty Axe launches in Hervey Bay

HERVEY Bay’s waterfront is about to get a whole lot sharper.

The team behind Aquavue Beachfront Bar & Eatery has officially unveiled The Salty Axe, the Bay’s newest, boldest, and most downright addictive indoor axe-throwing venue, complete with a brand-new beer garden, outdoor dining area, and a fully licensed setup that gives locals and visitors yet another reason to head to the foreshore.

If you have ever wondered why axe-throwing has exploded across the world, with international leagues, global competitions and some seriously passionate fans, the answer is simple; it’s pure, exhilarating, stress-melting fun.

Lauren and Jayden, proprietors of Aquavue said that the idea was born from a simple entertainment gap.

“Hervey Bay needed something different, high-energy, social, and suitable for adults of all ages. The Salty Axe delivers exactly that through a vibrant, trendy indoor venue where friends can unwind after work, couples can book a brave date-night, and groups can settle in for everything from corporate sessions to bucks and hen’s events.”

“The closest axe-throwing venues have traditionally been hours away, now the Bay finally has its own.”

“Participants must be sixteen or over, but aside from that, the sky’s the limit. There is no upper age bracket, if you can safely throw, you’re in.”

The Salty Axe is fully licensed, but it runs under a strict (and sensible) safety model.

“You cannot drink while you are actively throwing or while you are wearing your wristband for that session. Alcohol is only available before or after your session.”

“Between Aquavue’s two buildings, a brand-new beer garden and outdoor dining zone ties the whole precinct together.”

“Think festoon lighting, picnic tables, umbrellas, and a breezy foreshore atmosphere, perfect for groups waiting for their session or cooling off afterwards with a drink.”

“Guests will also be able to add optional food and beverage packages when booking, making it easy to turn axe-throwing into a full social outing”.

The Salty Axe offers two main types of sessions.

A Standard Chuck, running for 75 minutes, including a briefing and roughly an hour of throwing, as well as Hosted Sessions, which are ideal for functions, featuring a dedicated coach, structured games, competitions and multimedia-driven challenges.

These run for 2–3 hours depending on group size.

Walk-ins are welcome only if a lane is free, but given the hype, booking ahead is strongly recommended.

All bookings are handled online at https://www.thesaltyaxe.com.au/
