Fraser Coast gets ready for film festival

IN LESS than a month, you will see our region come alive with the much-anticipated Fraser Shorts Film Festival, as we welcome in special guests, filmmakers and festival enthusiasts.
Screen Fraser Coast with the support of Screen Queensland, Fraser Coast Regional Council and other local business is set to launch the inaugural Fraser Shorts Film Festival starting Oct 18th with a vibrant panel discussion and screening of Is This Forever and culminating in the lavish Awards night here in Hervey Bay on October 26th.
It’s no small journey bringing a film festival to a regional area and it can’t be done without the strong commitment and support of members and community alike.
I am always so thrilled to see the keen engagement from our Fraser Coast locals and it shows me our region is film ready in so many ways.
The judging has already commenced and I am honoured to be sharing this task with three other amazing industry professionals who I know have a keen eye for film and are very supportive of our local talent.
We have short film submissions from outside Australia, nationwide and local, which is what we had hoped for.
We want to capture the diversity of our region but also open our doors up to the great talent from across our Australia and the globe.
If you haven’t marked your calendars or booked tickets yet, please check out our website https://www.frasershorts.com.au/ and https://www.facebook.com/screenfrasercoast for more details.
You can be involved in the Screening of Is this Forever + a Q&A and Panel Discussion on the 18th October, the Maryborough Screening on October 24th, the Hervey Screening October 25th and the Festival Awards night October 26th.
