Embracing 2026: a year of reflection and renewal
AS WE step into January 2026, having hopefully enjoyed a well-deserved respite after a beautiful Christmas period, we're presented with an opportunity to not just make resolutions but to truly reflect on the year that has passed and the possibilities that lie ahead.
Every year, we find ourselves debating the value of creating yet another New Year’s resolution.
Rather than opting for a surface-level promise, let's take the time to acknowledge our experiences and set the stage for elevation in the year to come.
For me, 2025 was a year of many struggles and hard-won successes, leaving me more exhausted than ever and questioning my purpose and desire.
Yet, it was also a time of profound lessons. I learned that great people exist—those who go above and beyond to support you, alongside those who decided to move in new directions and paths.
Both types are essential; they help us reshape our narratives, imprint goodness and change in our hearts, and for that, I am truly grateful.
In 2024, I experienced one of my best years in terms of fitness, health, results on the competition floor, and overall happiness.
In contrast, 2025 became a year of healing for my heart, body, and mind. As I merge these experiences for 2026, I've been reminded that prioritising our health—both mental and physical—must come first. From that foundation, everything else can flourish.
So, as you prepare your list for 2026, remember to put yourself at the top. A well you, is a you who can give more, love more, and smile more.
I encourage you to ask yourself critical questions: What does my mind and body need? What does my family truly need? What changes can we implement to decrease stress and reinforce positive habits?
Consider how you can create a supportive environment in your workplace that benefits you and your colleagues while managing the expectation of accessibility.
Reflect on how to incorporate true, guilt-free rest into your life, and make financial decisions that empower both you and your family, freeing you from the burden of an overwhelming to-do list.
Finally, ponder how you can contribute to your community, offer support to those in need, and embrace a life filled with love, presence, and joy—without being submerged by unattainable expectations.
Together, let’s embrace 2026 as a year of transformation and renewal, where wellness and purpose guide our journey forward.
