Demographer returns to discuss our region’s future

FOLLOWING on from his sold-out luncheon last year, world renowned demographer Simon Kuestenmacher will again headline an upcoming FCPIA luncheon, offering insights into our future.

On Friday 17th May the Fraser Coast Property Industry Association will once again welcome Simon Kuestenmacher, a prominent figure in global data management and analysis, and Co-Founder of The Demographics Group in Melbourne.

Simon, a respected columnist for The Australian and The New Daily newspapers, has addressed numerous corporate and industry gatherings worldwide, focusing on demographic shifts, consumer behaviour, and cultural transformations in Australia.

Simon’s forward-looking perspectives on Hervey Bay’s future, including the necessary infrastructure to accommodate its unprecedented growth, are grounded in robust data and evidence.

He predicts the emergence of new businesses, work paradigms, and consumer habits, with a particular emphasis on prioritising local manufacturing in regions like Hervey Bay.

“The trend toward remote work continues to enhance productivity, reduces commuting, fosters self-sufficiency, and stimulates technology-driven entrepreneurship, especially in sought-after lifestyle destinations like the Fraser Coast,” Simon explains.

“Millennials, the primary demographic force in the coming decades, are seeking larger homes conducive to remote work, making regional relocation appealing if properly presented.”

Against the backdrop of a property boom across the Fraser Coast, with the benefit of a twelve-month window to assess, the luncheon will address strategies for maintaining the region’s allure as a destination.

FCPIA President Glen Winney is enthusiastic about hosting such a distinguished guest.

“With a massive global following and recognized influence in data visualization, Simon’s insights are invaluable,” Glen remarks.

Simon will share the latest population data showing how the Fraser Coast fared in the last few years, explain likely future developments, and explain how broader workforce trends are going to shape the region.

The luncheon, open to both FCPIA members and non-members, will take place on Friday 17th May at Hervey Bay Boat Club Secure your tickets at https://www.trybooking.com/CQBCT
