Community groups receive funding boost for projects
UPGRADING community clubrooms, improving digital access for residents and supporting local sports facilities are among the projects to receive funding through the latest round of Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Community Grants Program.
Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said 11 community groups would share almost $64,000 in Round 2 of the 2025/26 program, which helps local organisations deliver projects and events that build stronger, more connected communities.
“Community organisations are the backbone of the Fraser Coast - they create places where people can learn, play, volunteer and belong,” he said.
“This round will support a wide range of local needs - from helping the Maryborough Bears AFC create more inclusive change rooms, to roof upgrade works for the Hervey Bay and District Senior Citizens Club, and digital access support for Tinnanbar residents.”
“Each of these projects makes a meaningful difference to the people who use these facilities every day.”
“We’re proud to back the volunteers, coaches, organisers and community members who keep these groups running.”
Some successful applicants in Round 2 are:
- Poona Community Progress Association – Outdoor furniture and all-weather blinds ($9,120)
