Coming together for men’s mental health

MEN’S Walk and Talk Hervey Bay provides an informal forum for men from all works of life, to get together and share their stories.

Operating now for a year and a half, more than 175 walks have been conducted.

The walks take place every Tuesday afternoon at 5:15pm and Thursday morning at 6:00am, from outside the Hervey Bay Surf Life Saving Club.

Anyone is welcome to attend and join in.

Recently, the Men’s Walk and Talk group conducted a Blokes Breakfast at the Beach House Hotel, as well as a fantastic turnout for their recent Surf Club bar takeover, where the deck was packed with patrons enjoying the best view in Hervey Bay.

“We particularly want to extend a huge thank you to all the men from our local community who joined us at the recent Blokes Breakfast BBQ event at Beach House,” Men’s Walk and Talk spokesperson Shane Bradbury said.

“Your attendance and participation in the event just underpins the strength of our community, and we're grateful for your support in promoting men's mental health and wellness.”

“The goal of events like this is to be supportive and uplifting, and we look forward to continuing to provide a space for men to come together and support one another.”

“We also want to express our gratitude to our sponsors and volunteers for their valued contributions in making the event possible, especially Bob and Chris Wicks from Bob’s, The Beach House, The Beach House Fishing Club and the Bar Fly’s.”

“Without your support, we could not have pulled off such a successful event. We appreciate your dedication to promoting healthy living and mental health awareness in our community.”

“We're excited to announce that this event is just the beginning, and we hope that even more men can join us in the future, as our breakfasts will be hosted bi-monthly.”

“If there are any sponsors out there who would like to help cover the costs of a breakfast, we encourage you to reach out to us on our Facebook page.”

“Together, we can make a positive impact on mental health and the well-being of our community.”
