Christmas Lights Wonderland returns to Bay
THE MAGIC of the festive season is set to shine once again, with the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre preparing to bring its much-loved Christmas Lights Wonderland back to the Botanic Gardens for 2025.
Now entering its third year, the event has quickly grown into a standout feature of
the Fraser Coast’s Christmas calendar. This community tradition continues to flourish thanks to the generous and ongoing sponsorship of the Hervey Bay Boat Club.
Additional support from Paton’s Electrical, whose team brings professional expertise to the dazzling display, and the continued partnership of the Fraser Coast Regional Council, ensures the wonderland remains a cherished local experience.
This year’s event will feature exciting new additions, including Dinoland—where prehistoric magic meets festive sparkle—as well as an expanded Giant Elf Hunt.
The hunt will showcase new dioramas inspired by the famous Macy’s Christmas windows, crafted by dedicated volunteer Christmas elves in collaboration with the Hervey Bay Women’s Shed.
CEO for HBNC, Tanya Stevenson, said, “The Christmas Lights Wonderland is more than just a light display, it’s a celebration of community spirit, creativity, and connection. We invite everyone to come along, share in the wonder, and make cherished holiday memories together”.
Visitors can enjoy the Christmas Lights Wonderland from 11 to 23 December, with the Botanic Gardens in Hervey Bay opening each evening from 6.00pm to 8.30pm for the community to wander through the display.
Entry is by gold coin donation, making it an accessible and affordable night out for families across the region.
As the gardens light up once again, the event promises a magical evening under
the stars, offering a joyful celebration of community, connection, and the spirit of Christmas.
From exploring the all-new Dinoland to discovering surprises within the expanded Giant Elf Hunt, the experience will deliver festive fun for families, friends, and visitors of all ages.
