The Hervey Bay Advertiser is proud to be launching the 10th Anniversary of the hugely successful reward and recognition program for local business, with the return of the Fraser Coast Business and Tourism People’s Choice Awards.
Unlike traditional business award concepts which require small local businesses to fill out lengthy submissions and invest hundreds of dollars for long awards night events, these awards are judged and voted on by customers - the real judges of great business.
Hervey Bay Advertiser General Manager Darren Bosley was excited about the return of this great initiative.
‘In the past, this program has attracted in excess of 350 individual business nominations and reached over 90,000 people on social media. It was pioneered by the Hervey Bay Independent in 2013 and we are very excited to be bringing it back. Customers are the best judges of the strengths and points of difference for a business and their opinions play a significant role in recognising the region’s best’ he said.
‘The Fraser Coast Business and Tourism People’s Choice Awards is a great concept that allows for increased participation, wider category inclusion and significant promotional opportunities for all nominees’.
State Member for Hervey Bay, Adrian Tantari was glowing in his support for the PCA project.
‘What makes this concept so very unique is the power of the people. Every business who is nominated has the option to accept as a finalist and go through to public voting’.
Hervey Bay Advertiser publisher Malcolm Quinn explained the uniqueness of the program.
‘There is no capping on the number of finalists per category, who can then progress to public voting. It’s not about some panel of judges deciding who should progress past nomination and who shouldn’t. It’s about the customers’ Mr Quinn said.
‘The Fraser Coast Business and Tourism People’s Choice Awards is all about inclusiveness and opening up greater opportunities for local operators to be recognised for the fantastic work they do, growing our region’.
