Acclaimed authors to visit libraries
AUTHORS, including a multi-award-winning romance writer and a best-selling crime novelist, will visit Fraser Coast Libraries for a series of author talks and writing workshops as part of the vibrant Lines in the Sand series for 2026.
Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said the program celebrates creativity, conversation and connection through storytelling, with a strong line-up at Hervey Bay and Maryborough libraries.
“Lines in the Sand brings readers and writers together through the power of storytelling, offering opportunities to learn, be inspired and connect with creative minds,” he said.
“In February, multi-award-winning and USA Today bestselling author Amy Andrews will visit to celebrate the release of her latest novel, Engaged, Apparently - a sassy, laugh-out-loud romance featuring fake dating with a twist.
Cr Seymour said Amy has a twenty-year career spanning more than 90 contemporary romance novels, her books have been translated into two dozen languages and sold more than three million copies worldwide.
“We’re excited to welcome such a prolific author to speak with local readers and aspiring writers,” Cr Seymour said.
“Also joining the line-up is best-selling novelist and crime writer Christian White, who will appear at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery on Saturday 14 February as part of Library Lovers Day celebrations.”
“Christian will discuss his latest novel, The Long Night, described as his darkest and most exhilarating book yet.”
Cr Seymour said Fraser Coast Libraries regularly host free Lines in the Sand author events to inspire both readers and aspiring writers.
“Attendees will gain insights into each author’s creative process, character development and the real-life inspirations behind their work,” he said.
“Christian and Amy’s sessions include a Q&A and book signing, giving fans the chance to engage directly with the authors.
“Entry is free, but bookings are essential.”
